Welcome Message from the Board of Trustees

The Bozeman Public Schools Board of Trustees consists of eight members, seven of which are elected by the voters of Bozeman Elementary District No. 7. One trustee-at-large is elected by the voters of the rural elementary districts to serve with the seven elementary members as the Bozeman High School District No. 7 Board. Each member serves a three-year term without compensation.

The Board of Trustees serves as the agent of the State of Montana, assigned by law, to provide educational services and facilities for the Bozeman School District. Bozeman Public Schools exists to ensure high-level learning for all students. The Board hires a Superintendent of Schools to execute policies, and regularly evaluates the Superintendent’s job performance.

Bozeman School Board represents the community in establishing a sound philosophy, established by the Long-Range Strategic Plan, for all educational programs and activities. The Board collaborates with the Superintendent and administrative staff on the following district tasks: policy, leadership, and sound financial plans consistent with school needs and community resources.

The Board is honored to collaborate with our dedicated certified, classified, professional, and administrative staff in delivering the transformative gift of learning to our students.

Members of the public are welcome to attend Board meetings usually held on the second Monday of each month. Unless otherwise designated, these meetings begin at 5:45p.m. in the Board Room of the Willson School at 404 West Main Street. Special meetings are called as needed by the Board Chair.
