TECHNOLOGY

In order for students to feel comfortable with the tools of the Information Age, they need access to computers and related technology. As of 2005, we have a lab with:

• 20 iMac/eMac computers
• an LCD projector
• a scanner
• 3 color printers
• a laserjet printer
• a digital camera

Children begin using the lab in kindergarten, progressing to more challenging activities through the 5th grade. We have many different types of applications from skill building programs to word processing and multimedia programs. The lab and every classroom has monitored and filtered Internet access. All families fill out an Acceptable Use Agreement before the students get online. Lab classes try to integrate computer skills with classroom curriculum.

The Longfellow Parent Association, along with the district, has helped to provide the computers as well as the software. This is a priority with our parent group.

Visit the district's TeacherLink to see Longfellow teachers' web pages.

Some Longfellow teachers have created classroom websites. Click on the name to see their work.
