About Kindergarten

Kindergarten Program

Our program is designed to provide a developmentally rich experience and to allow each child to develop a love of learning. Our curriculum consists of developmentally based programs chosen with the goal of accommodating the individual levels of all kindergarten children. All instruction focuses on developing skills and behaviors that will enhance the process of learning through listening, thinking, speaking, working, fine and gross motor skills and social interactions.

Language Arts

We focus on building a strong literacy foundation for all students. Rich literature is paired with research based skill development necessary to be a successful reader.

Mathematics

Math concepts are developed through a hands-on approach.

Science

The discovery process through hands-on experiences, observations and discussions makes up the science program.

Social Studies

Relationships of self to others and the world around us are at the core of the social studies program.

Art

To develop the understanding of art as expression through experiment and exploration using a variety of activities, mediums, and techniques is at the core of our art program.

Music

The music program provides children with experiences in rhythm, use of instruments, melody, tempo, and multicultural experiences.

Health Enhancement

Age appropriate concepts of health and safety are central to Health Enhancement. Physical education emphasizes skill that will promote child development and participation. Skills taught include social skills, gross and fine motor skills and movement education.

Library

Lessons promote the enjoyment and appreciation of library materials from books to media.
