CLUBS/ORGANIZATIONS
ART CLUB

If Art class just isn't enough for you or, if you would like to try some of your own projects and meet professional artists, then, Art Club is the place for you! Mr. Zimmer will be the Advisor and Art Club will meet Mondays 3:45-5:00. Please see Mr. Zimmer about a start date.

BREAKFAST CLUB

The Breakfast Club meets every Wednesday morning at 7:30 a.m. It is a club that promotes drug-free activities and education for CJMS students. The Breakfast Club is sponsored by Mrs. Rosalie Lee.

DRAMA CLUB

Drama Club, with Mrs. Stacy Hostetter, Choir room, offers the opportunity for students to work together to bring a full- scale theatrical production to the stage. Club meetings will be held every Monday afternoon from 3:30-4:30 beginning the first week of November. Auditions will begin in January for the February production.

EIGHTH GRADE MATHCOUNTS

Throughout the fall, 8th grade students will be using warm-ups and exercises from the MathCounts book. CJMS team selection will be later this fall. Chapter competition will be held in February, and if our teams make it, the state competition will be in March. To better prepare for the MathCounts competition, 8th grade students will be invited to sack-lunch seminars on Tuesdays. The date and time will be announced. Anne Keith is the coach.

OUTDOORSMAN CLUB

If you are interested in camping, fishing, hiking etc see Mr. McGeehan about joining the Outdoorsman Club.

GEOGRAPHY BEE

The Geography Bee takes place after the first of the year. Listen to the announcements for upcoming information regarding the start date. Mr. Ayers will be the sponsor for this activity.

LEGO ROBOTICS

In ROBOTICS Club, students learn to program and design devices using MINDSTORMS LEGO sets to complete a number of tasks. An annual competition is held in Bozeman in which teams of students compete against other teams for across the state and possibly the nation.

GENERATION WE

Meets during 8th grade lunch on Wednesdays. Come and explore topics that interest your generation.

SCIENCE OLYMPIAD

Students interested in the Montana Science Olympiad will meet on Mondays at 3:30 in Room 109. Club sponsors will be Wendy Pierce and Rick Hannula.

HAM RADIO

Begins in October and will be held each Monday from 3:20-4:30. Mrs. Chiariello is the sponsor for this club.

STUDENT COUNCIL

Students help coordinate school dances, talent show and do service learning projects. Some serve on an executive council with the Principal and Asst. Principal. Student Council meets at each grade level.

SPELLING BEE

CJMS coordinates the school Spelling Bee with the local and state contests. This usually takes place in February and March. Mrs. Paula Lee is the sponsor. Listen to the daily announcements for further information.

YEARBOOK

The Yearbook committee is always looking for enthusiastic workers who would like to have apart in compiling the yearbook. Listen to the announcements for further information.

CARTOON CLUB

Meets after school on Tuesdays for an hour. Ms. Kennedy is the sponsor for this club.



ALL STUDENTS ATTENDING CJMS ARE ENCOURAGED TO PARTICIPATE IN AT LEAST TWO ACTIVITIES THIS YEAR. PLEASE CHOOSE FROM THE AVAILABLE SCHOOL CLUBS, MUSIC GROUPS, SPORTS ACTIVITIES AND/OR COMMUNITY OR CHURCH SPONSORED OPPORTUNITIES. GET INVOLVED!!!
