The Bridger Program was formed as the result of an extensive study of student needs (1989-1991). It was founded as a branch campus of Bozeman High Schools to serve "at-risk" secondary students. In 1992, following the recommendations of Superintendent Dr. Paula Butterfield, Bozeman Public Schools Trustees approved development of the Bridger Program.
